Do You Suffer From Daytime Sleepiness & Cognitive Dysfunction?

Snoring and sleep apnea, stopping breathing for 10 seconds or more, have severe health and quality-of-life consequences. Sleep apnea increases the risk of high blood pressure, heart attacks, diabetes, strokes and death. People who suffer from sleep apnea can experience daytime sleepiness, cognitive dysfunction and impaired work performance.

Medical treatment for sleep apnea, after diagnosis by your physician via a sleep study, can be surgical or non-surgical. Most often a breathing machine called CPAP or BIPAP will be prescribed. Continuous positive airway pressure is very effective for the treatment of sleep apnea. If, however you cannot tolerate your CPAP or you prefer not to travel with the bulky machine, an alternative oral appliance may help.

After proper medical diagnosis, we can customize an appliance to open your airway. We have several different appliances at our disposal and will determine which one will work best for you. Our appliances are adjustable and we use the Wrist Pat 2000, a take home sleep monitor, to titrate the appliance for optimum airway opening. Say goodbye to the spare bedroom, because once you are fitted with an oral appliance at Beaches Dentistry and Wellness, separate bedrooms due to loud snoring will be a thing of the past!

Sleep Apnea & Snoring Oral Appliances
